Daisy the Cow

As part of a competition

Run by a national newspaper

I was able to deliver loaves of bread

With a famous actor

To people residing in sheltered accommodation

It was there that I met Daisy the Cow

Who invited me to Russia

So that could raise red flags in praise of Stalin

At lonely railway stations distant from Moscow

It was whilst visiting one of these stations

On a very misty morning that I met another piebald cow

Who was also called Daisy and was noted for her dancing

She had once been a Hero of the Soviet Union

I asked if I might film her dances on my mobile phone

It was then that Daisy pointed out two flimsy figures in the distance

Who I supposed to be members of the KGB although they were almost hidden

It was only as they came closer that I realised that they were long lost friends

Who I had never met but knew very well
