What is real to me may not be real to you

I often wonder why as we are no different

When I hear a bird singing in a tree

Do you hear the same sweet songs

Are you aware of the beauty that surrounds us all

Are you aware of the ugliness that surrounds us all

I feel both these intensely and experience the emotions

But they do not seem to interfere with your life

And you seem to retain a certain almost admirable blandness

You neither laugh or cry as if suffocated in a vacuum

Are you aware that all the roads you see are your freedom roads

I have been aware of this for years but few share this reality
