My heavenly father told me that Ugolino did not devour his sons but was placed in the ice of the second ring by the poet

He was trapped in the same ice hole as his enemy Ruggieri who had left him to starve to death

But Ugolino did not actually starve as he was condemned to gnaw at Ruggieri’s skull for eternity
