Very soon the sidewalks of New York
Will greet Steve and Stevie for the first time
They will boast of the subways and the buildings tall
Of their endless streets and the urban sprawl
You will visit Macy’s Tiffany’s and Bloomingdales
Where hopefully the fun toys are in the sales
They will recommend a park in the middle of the city
With its springtime light and blossoms so pretty
They will suggest that you transfer to a Manhattan deli
For breakfast in New York where you can fill your belly
Perhaps mummy and daddy will take you to a loft
Where you can play with your new toys so pristine and soft
Enjoy the New World
My granddaughters two
Till I see you again
Under the Deal skies blue
