Fragments from the Modasa

Things had remained unchanged for hundreds of years

But in the space of a few short months

You changed everything

What do you keep in that hot stone bucket

Rooks eggs

Is that to encourage them to grow

Into strong and respectable birds

Submarines would patrol our coast

With their cannons primed

They would always travel on the surface

Soldiers in landing craft would haunt the shallows

With their guns at the ready

But they never fired a shot

A pair of gauntlets were lost on the beach

They were never recovered

White maidens would wear pendants

Between their breasts

These were made using coloured sea glass
