What have you been doing since we last met Saul?
I have been reading a book about the Dyatlov Pass Incident
What was that?
It was about the strange deaths of nine hikers in the Ural Mountains in February 1959
Why strange?
Because they suffered peculiar injuries and investigations have not been able to determine the circumstances on the incident
How interesting
What about you?
I have been writing a small book about a French movie released in 1972
What was the movie called?
Faustine et le bel ete
Faustine and the Beautiful Summer
Why are you writing a book about a movie released over forty years ago?
Because I had a very small part in it
What was the part?
I placed Myra the passing English girl who speaks to Faustine after she swims
Why was your part cut?
I think that the director thought it unbalanced the film
Was this your only film?
Yes
I just happened to be passing the set and was invited to participate
Nina was so apologetic to me and I still have the stills and the letter that she sent to me at the time
Have you seen the movie?
No
It contained early performances from Isabelle Huppert and Isabelle Adjani and you know how famous they became
Did either of them play the title role?
No that was played by Muriel Catala
I have never heard of her
She retired at thirty
Where shall we eat my actress friend?
You could have become a beacon in French cinema
Another Jane Birkin
And your Russian friends will discover what really happened to those poor people in the Dyatlov Pass
Let me read your book when it is published
I will
And as a treat I will take you to the Dyatlov Pass
Thank you but I would rather visit this chocolate café
