Dearest
Yesterday I had an unpopular experience on the Dane John mound in Canterbury
I had not planned to climb it but soon found myself within my occupation
As I climbed I became acutely aware of the uneven nature of my surroundings
And this was what triggered my unease as although I was not high above the castle walls
I felt that I was going to stumble and fall at any moment as the steps were narrow
When I reached the summit of the monument I found a tiny seat where I rested for a while
But I still felt that I was about to fall or tumble ungraciously from my station
I must say that I was glad to descend although this was not without its problems
When I did find myself on the castle walls again I considered my fuss and felt rather silly
