When I take photographs I use a beat up old mobile phone camera

I take many many photographs knowing that one will please me

Friends say that I have an eye for the light but this confuses me

They also say that I have an eye for colour and should use expensive equipment

I will not do this as that is a betrayal of my basics

If I was an artist I would use a blunt pencil to find beauty

I would be as attracted to the voids as I was to the line

But I only really excel in one discipline

It was not my choice as it often torments me and leaves me exhausted

I am not a poet

I am not an artist

I am not a photographer

I am nothing
