Early December Poems 9/12/17

Titus Oates & Auroleo Dead

I believe that I saw Titus Oates and Auroleo Dead

Walking in the December field today

I could not be sure as the sun was bright low

They appeared to be heading towards the enchanted copse

And soon vanished from view

How I envied the tiny wood fairies

Mongoose

Will you be my friend?

Gimenez held the dying man in his arms oblivious to the shells and bullets that were shredding everything in sight

I do not have any friends you know

That is why I joined the army

I am quite enjoying it even on days like these

The dying man looked at Gimenez‘s youthful face

When I was your age I did not have any friends and that is why I joined the army

But look at me now I have been shot to pieces and if I am not mistaken that is my leg over there in that shell hole

What use are friends now?

Gimenez kissed the bloodied forehead of the dying man

I will be your friend

The dying man smiled weakly and became limp

Gimenez closed his terrible eyes

Take cover Gimenez!

For fucks sake take cover Gimenez !

They are coming this way

I will but not before I bury my friend

Reclining Wolves

The woodman and His Mate were deep in the forest

Although the day was bright the sunlight found it difficult to filter through the deep trees and illuminate the many paths

His Mate looked up and scratched his head

Doubt if there be much air today these woods will be stifling

I agree we will have to take our time today

How’s yer book goin?

Well it is going well

What’s it called?

Wives and Daughters

When will I be able to read it?

Dunno maybe this year maybe the next

I am a chocolate soldier

I know
