Changing Trains

One

It was one of those wonderful dreams

A dream that proves you wrong

I was warm in my bed soft and sleepy

When the alarm went off

It was raining outside

Mild but rather blustery

And then I woke up  again

There was no alarm clock

And all I had to do

Was choose my day

Two

After what had seemed a long journey

I found myself on the island platform

Of a deep underground station

This usually made me nervous

But I felt unusually calm

I had a choice of two trains

Both travelling northwards

Towards the same destination

Using adjacent platforms

Yes they took different routes

A quirk of history but very convenient

I chose the train on the right

As I am left of hand and thought

I knew then that you had travelled

Without fuss on the other train
