It was completed on Black Box Beach in 1947

 

Black Box Beach had been a hippie beach in the 1960s

It had also been a nude beach in those more liberated days

And this is where its rather unusual name originated

 

Today now that the hippies have gone the beach is more modest

With a small beach side bar and a sea scooter jetty added

The former home of George is now a small museum
