The Tachlin Supermarket is next to the Tachlin Tunnel

The tunnel is quite new and was built to serve the high speed ICE trains

As part of the Spencer Group the supermarket was opened five years ago

And serves the nearby towns of Ake Nacke and Spake

From its plate glass windows customers can watch the impressive trains

Speed by either towards Koln or Frankfurt

Margit Ross was born of a Scottish father and a German mother

And is studying at the Goethe University in Frankfurt at present

She works in the customer service area of the store during holidays

As she speaks English French and Spanish as well as her home language

I meet her from time to time as I own a bookshop in Koln

Recently I gave her my copy of Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace

Which is one of the most extraordinary books ever written

Today I saw her reading the book in the Lattise Park which is opposite the supermarket

The book I know has impressed her but little does she know that quite soon

She will become one of the most celebrated writers in Germany with her debut novel
