I was in Iceland recently looking at a frozen lake
The day was fading but the horizon was quite clear
The ice in front of me was deepening in its blue colour
To be truthful I knew everything and nothing
As in thirty minutes it would have been pitch dark
And I would not have been able to see even an atom
I knew then that God was speaking to me
But I could not hear a word as the ice winds
Were blind in their frozen cruelty that evening
