Although it has been a tragic month for me

I do love the month of June

The wild briar rose and the clearing skies

Populated by swallows and other visitors

Brings me nothing but a rich happiness

 

The ancient tractors work the fertile fields

Everything is new and in its early maturity

Midsummer is so near that you can taste the air

The perfumes of the countryside seem to seduce you

As you roam the lanes of this beautiful southern county
