For my birthday my dear friends purchased an illuminated fish tank
Which they placed in the corner of my running room
At first it contained no water and the fluorescent light was wasted on me
I had little time for my gift
But soon my friends filled the tank with illuminated water
And added twenty-eight fish
Three of these fish especially attracted me
Two Mudskippers and Neon
The Neon was sickly and spent a lot of its time hiding in the gravel
But the Mudskippers quite often rested in areas superior to the water
They made rather dull humming sounds especially at night
It was rather soothing to me as I lay in the arms of my beloved
But soon things changed as the Neon died suddenly
I no longer saw the immediate flashes of its minute colour
Rapid in the bright waters
Even the conversation of the Mudskippers seemed dull
This all proved too much for me and soon I gave my tank to a nearby church
And now as I lay in the arms of my beloved
I content myself with looking at the bleak blank walls of my factory room
