The Owl and the Pussycat

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
   In a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five-pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
“O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
         You are,
         You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!”
Stan had dared Jane to walk around the library naked
If she did he would give her his Edward Lear first edition
Stan was in love with Jane’s Maidenhead
He adored it and often wrote about it
He shared its beauty on free beaches
And likened it to a field of summer corn
Many thought this to be an odd obsession
But to Stan and Jane it felt quite natural
Jane completed her dare without incident
And received her cherished book
In return she gave Stan a plastic lobster
Which was attached to a sea blue ribbon
It often accompanied him around the city
And when asked he explained that he disliked dogs
