I love watching you shower Jane

All soap and sweet smells

I love your towelled nudity afterwards

And your scrubbed clean appearance

Russia is a tragic country

I feel very sad for it as it is the equal of Europe

Its tragedy is because of its ability to self destruct

Think of it if the revolution had never happened

Yes

He is almost unheard of in the West

I agree which is surprising as he was one of greatest Russian lyric poets

Tell me about him

Well he did not die in duel

Or from a tragic disease

He was one of the poets of the Golden Age

Of Pushkin Batyushkov and others

He was a conservative landowner

Yet at the same time was a romantic poet

But due to complications surrounding his birth

He lost his noble title and privileges

When he was only fourteen

This scarred him for a long time

He spent many years trying to regain his nobility

When he was fifty-three the Emperor granted him this nobility

Fet is mainly known for his moving love poems

But that masked a great tragedy in his life

As his great love Maria Lazich commiited suicide

By setting herself on fire because Fet was unable to marry her

Due to her lack of fortune
