Norwegian Drapes

Hi Jane

Stan is walking the streets of NYC and feels very small against the tall buildings

It is only four degrees but bright and the sun is a friend

The reason is that I walking to Macys which is near Times Square

I caught the subway to Times Square 42nd Street

I never got lost once

I am so good with city transit systems

Guess what I found as I made my way to my nearest subway station

I popped into a sort of dime store to get some water and found a copy of Death Wish by Brian Garfield

It was ratty and well read so I added it to my purchases

The Korean owner seeing that I was English said that the subways were safe now

But he remembered the 1970s and said that he had been robbed many times as a young man

I asked if it was still bad and he noted that he was last robbed in 1981 on his sisters birthday

This said he told me that he had a weapon just in case

I felt uncomfortable as I am a country lad

The subway was nothing like the one that Charles Bronson rode on

It was clean and bright so I decided to read my book

Nobody apart from a couple of Canadians paid any attention to me

Charles had done his job but time had passed him by

Nevertheless it is a good novel and I will likely read it at the hotel later

On the subject of the hotel I was chatting to the assistant manager yesterday and told him how much I liked the drapes

He told me that the chain sourced them from Norway and one could find them at Macys

That is where I am at present having a coffee to warm myself up

I am going to buy you the identical drapes hopefully in either ash grey and blush pink

Our lovely drapes have faded a little and I know how fussy you are about your drapes

Wish me luck as the store is heaving

It reminds me a bit of that movie Carol that we watched a while back

Rooney Mara is certainly not behind the counter and Cate Blanchett is nowhere to be seen

But the feel of the place is similar as the store is decorated possibly too much but it is still very acceptable

Although it is Sunday and a free day I still have a tight schedule as Daniel has invited me to meet Linda his wife

We are going to dine at a special Italian he knows – how I wish you were here – you would like it so much

As you know I am flying out of JFK on Tuesday morning and hopefully will be with you just after dark

Do not bother to meet me at the airport as I am a big boy now and I have Charles in my pocket

What are you doing Jane are you watching the trains pass below in you dressing gown

Are your thighs slightly apart is your golden bush reflecting the sun

This said I can see that you have plate cloud in London

Enough of my fantasies as after all one should not get too excited in Macys

If you do not come back to me then (I think that you are visiting Julie today) I will choose the colour

I hope that you will like my choice if not I will keep the receipt and you can take them back

Radio silence for a while now as I am going to do a far better thing than I have ever done

Although I will be lagged by the time I see you again I look forward to sitting in our lounge

With you in my arms discussing that damn coffee stain that not even Vanish can conquer

Before that I have a closing day and a long flight and a trip above the clouds

Is you bear still on the third chair- it is funny that I think of him whenever I see a bear in NYC

Nearing the dreaded area that is supposed to sell the Norwegian drapes

I am about to make a fool of myself (how I need you at this very moment)

Wish me Luck

I will if it is not too late mail you later

No nude selfies on my phone please as I am told that Linda is very Bible Belt and the sight of your cunt might shock her

You have done this before and I know what a bitch you are

I remember Lisbon only too clearly Jane

You are still in my bad books

Remember if you are a good girl then I have lots of candy for you

And I might even purchase some more in this very store

Forever the poet and I know it

Hopefully chat in a few hours

You are already in my arms

Must stop as I am already lost here

A simple lad lost in Macys

What a wonderful thought
