I live with a girl named

Small Town Amerika

We have been together

For just over six years

And run a small gallery in Rye

That Amerika inherited

From her late father

Who died in the Milwaukee Air Disaster

In the June of 2013

Amerika also has a brother

Who lives in Guildford

But they have not spoken

For three years and a half years

Because of her fathers stamp collection

Which is claimed by both siblings

This split shows no sign of a resolution

And if anything is getting worse

I have tried to mediate but have failed

In a month we are travelling to Wisconsin

To visit her fathers final resting place

We do this one a year normally in September

And treat it as a short vacation

Amerika’s mother is still alive

But left her father when she was two

They occasionally correspond

But this is not a frequent occurrence

As both women are strong willed

I am also a minor artist and specialise

In painting the soft meadows of Kent
