I had a cousin who was a little older than me

Her name was Cherry Palmer

We were both distantly related

To George Palmer

Of Huntley & Palmers fame

The strange thing was that neither of us

Had a sweet tooth and cared little for biscuits

I last saw Cherry at a wedding when she was twenty-one

The following year she vanished mysteriously in South East Asia

No trace of her was ever found despite extensive searches

There is a memorial stone remembering her short life

In my local church which is situated opposite the main door
