Interesting Spiders and I have been together for six months

She looks very like Demi Lovato and is often mistaken for the singer

I met her in New Haven in Connecticut where she lived with her father

Although he was a decent man who was a top professor at Yale

Interesting Spiders felt rather neglected and wanted to hit the road

And this is where I came in as I was touring the USA with MU Band

We were playing a gig in New Haven when I met her by the tour bus

For some reason we clicked and I took her along for the ride

My fellow MU members flew back to England as planned

But I stayed on and decided to travel around with Interesting Spiders

I had no more musical commitments until the autumn

And the band were taking a well earned rest

I have always been interested in American Pop Art

As well as other American schools yet my favourite artist

Is by far Edward Hopper and I hope to visit Truro

Where he built his own house although he lived in NYC

Interesting Spiders has also expressed a wish to visit Cape Cod

I have removed my beard so I am less recognisable

And to a great extent this works but because of my girlfriends resemblance

We are sometimes stopped by fans of both MU and Demi Lovato

And it will not be long before the rumours start about Dave Dawson

I am writing this in a diner in the middle of nowhere in particular

A battered copy of The Day of the Locust by Nathanael West

Has been left by anonymous passing through

We will adopt this book on our journey it will be our companion

These words are the first I hope of a diary describing our travels
