Today I walked between
Sandgate And Hythe
In temperatures approaching
Eighty-two degrees
It was a walk of great beauty
With the sea glimmering
Erratically to my left
Before retiring into a soft dull haze
The light was so incredibly intense
That the beach users
Were reduced to declining shadows
Fading into the heat of the afternoon
I felt a great happiness
Deeply during these flowing hours
As I was able to see everything quite clearly
Through God’s wonderful eyes
