Cinema

It was a hot afternoon

I had finished my work

And decided to cool off

In the Rex Bleu Rex

A double bill was advertised

L’ Etranger and L’ Etranger

The cinema was empty

Save for the regular lovers

I slumped into my usual seat

And drank iced water

Touched with lime

Sleep overcame me

As I was exhausted

When I awoke

The lovers were gone

I was quite alone

The screen was grey

And the auditorium half hidden

I stumbled towards the exit

And slid into the early evening light

How refreshing it was to taste

The soft southerly breeze

I saw the regular lovers again

Sharing a coke in Bar Spain
