My Spanish cousin is visiting us for a few days

She has never visited England before

We live deep in the countryside

On the Wiltshire/Berkshire borders

Our house backs on to the railway

And trains speed by at regular intervals

My cousins name is Jane

Although she is called Paz

This anomaly is caused

As she has an English mother

And a Spanish father

She looks a little out of place

In this typical English village

Due to her exotic raven features

I think that she is much desired

Paz/Jane has told me

That she is finding it hard

To get used to the lush countryside

As at this time of year

It is deep damp dry green

But what amuses her the most

Is that the area of the village

Where my house finds itself

Is for some reason

Referred to as Spain
