Little Palaces

On a wet afternoon in Paris

I popped into a cinema

To catch a movie

It was a thriller

About a kidnapper

Who along with his hostage

Is chased around the streets

Near this cinema

By a the father of the child

The ending is not a happy one

As the kidnapper

Is pushed under a train

By the angry father

After he fails to reveal

Where he has left the child

To my left and to my right

I can see the cops

One is holding the hand

Of my smiling son

I am aware of my impending arrest

But I am so very happy
