Each summer I travel to the Greek Islands

These are not as you might think holidays

(Although I do use the beaches)

My main occupation is photography

As there are many unfinished buildings

To be found especially in the coastal areas

I call them Unrealised Dreams

Or Testaments of Foolishness

There are so many to be found

Decaying starkly in the barren landscapes

These poor creatures fascinate me

I almost feel sorry for them

Each has a view to a perfect sea

Which further increases their isolation

I always take black and white photographs

As this heightens the vacancy

Of these forgotten buildings

I sometimes use myself from life

As I like to explore the differences

Between my soft white flesh

And the rough weathered concrete

I have been photographing these buildings

For a number of years on various islands

This is my fifth year and I am planning further visits
