The Canal

On the 5th March 2018 during repairs to a lock on the Dorset Canal workman found the skeleton of a murder victim

Tests on the skeletal remains determined that these were the remains of a man of about thirty and that they had been underwater for over ninety years

The cause of death has not yet been determined but the body had been weighed down by four iron weights

Interestingly the lock is only about a mile from the Lodge Park Camping Site where a mysterious double suicide took place in May 1932

Police do not think these deaths are linked but their investigations are still ongoing
