7 Railway Platforms of the World

York

I visited York just over two months ago and sat on one of the uncomfortable benches whilst June Jayne fetched the coffee blue

The station was busy with people hurrying in all directions

Worn with modern additions would describe the platforms at York

She is an elderly lady tired but still prim

Many of her brothers and sisters still live under the same roof

Arles/Nimes

On both our visits it was 45 degrees it was hot enough for September in June

Arles is thin station whose platforms appear to be bleached under the southern sun

But this is a coloured illusion and therefore false

Unlike Arles/Nimes has an overall roof which gives the station a gloomy feel

I adore Nimes but for reasons hidden I find its platforms nondescript
