Do you know what today is Josie
Tuesday
But what is the date
April 23
It is St. George’s Day sis
So it is
I almost forgot
Many people do and that is what it means to be pure English
Pure English
Yes you can trace your tree back generations
I have been in both Wales and Scotland on their days
They make a great song and dance about things
To me this is a little pathetic and is driven by those with other agendas
But they are still my brothers
What does it feel like to be English Josie
English
I feel the comfort of a mother country no matter where I am in the world
I feel a comfort in our wonderful language
I feel a comfort in our great history
It is a feeling of warmth of belonging and because of this we do not wildly celebrate St. George’s Day as to so is a little vulgar
When I was a child Daddy told me about a few German prisoners of war that during his war service he cared for
They were just men who had been caught up in a storm
To a man they told him that they were glad to have been captured by the English/British because of our sense of fair play
It has to be cricket
If they had surrendered to other allied countries then their fate might have been very different
It is a minor memory of the war but says a lot about these islands
We have a inbuilt sense of fair play
That said we can be a harsh enemy
But common sense always applies
We are the most democratic country in the world
We take free speech as a right and although sometimes quite painful
Agree with Voltaire
This is why I hate those who would deny us this right
The Malignant Left
Yes
There are technically very few of them but it is their influence that is malignant
Do you mean the useful idiots
Yes
That is why kids with immature brains follow like sheep
If you go to any of these demos and ask whether they know what they are protesting about
You would get confused answers
Is that why you hate being called racist Joe
I always reply that racist is a wasted word and that I would prefer to be called English
