Yesterday I left my senses behind
And decided to walk
From New Romney to Dymchurch
A distance of about five miles
The temperature of this scalding day
Was between eighty-five and ninety
Yet was subtly cooled by a kind sea breeze
I was in a heaven that I did not understand
A wilderness a wasteland a place of barren beauty
In time and completely by accident
I found a piece of rough concrete
That had been painted by an unknown artist
Red Green Purple and Grey
It is now in the art gallery that I call my home
