Alan and I have split up

We both tried hard

But we are so different

I am sorry to hear that

As you can imagine

I am quite liquid at present

But thought that I was drying up

Until I read your Sussex poems

They are so beautiful

So simple

I did not stand a chance

I am sitting in my deckchair

Crying like a child

It is only a collection of words

But I suppose that a painting

Is only a collection of colours

Which part of East Sussex

Inspired these poems

It is no secret

I wrote these poems

Whilst I was in Winchelsea

Which is only a few miles distant from Rye

It is to me like Palmer’s Shoreham

I see so much whilst I am there

As you can guess I am back in the UK

Do pop down to Richmond

I may be little else but I am a good listener
